QUINN’S QUILT:
Celebrates the beauty of traditional quilting. This intarsia blanket shows off this glorious new yarn featuring a color pallet of the Western US. Made with American fleece, milling, and dying JBW has created a gorgeous springy, soft, natural wool yarn. A dream to knit with and (I hope) a great warm piece to snuggle into!

SIZE: Blanket Size = 58” SQUARE
Due to the nature of garter stitch, this blanket can be hard blocked to make it larger. Personally, I mostly shaped (trued lines), flattened and minimally stretched it to achieve the size listed.

I have always admired Quilting and how amazingly simple shapes, put together, can create art with color planning.
This is my attempt to create an homage to this through knitting. It does not quiet have the crisp points of a traditional quilt, but my decision to have this relatively seamless has created some new lovely & unexpected lines. I am very excited to work with this new wool. Created by Jimmy Beans Wool, in collaboration with University Nevada, Reno for the “R7” Merino Wool. Milled at Mountain Meadow Wool of Wyoming. Dyed at Medelinetosh in Texas.

There IS a color planning page in the pattern. This will help you if you wish to pick different colors OR place them in another way.

This piece is knit in DK weight yarn. This is a nice standard DK; also appropriate would be a light worsted.

My design uses 10 colors, and 15 skeins.
Nine colorways are single skeins and
one (Natural) uses 5 skeins.
For a total of 1,400g of yarn / 3,010 yds.

Unfortunately, I did not weigh all my skeins before I wound them (or I cannot find the info, one or the other).
Only the third color listed seems the have less than 10% waste allowed, and that had 6% (It is also possible a tiny ball of leftover was misplaced somewhere along the way and the overage was more). This should mean you are okay with yardage, even if you knit a little looser than I do! I would still encourage you to check your gauge as directed in the pattern.
